    String broke on bowtech insanity

My string broke on my insanity today. I went to the bow shop get my peep tied in it was twisting on me. Had the guy look at it and check over bow. Got home figured is shoot make sure everything was good to go for in the morning. First time I drawed it snapped on me luckily I was wearing jacket or it woulda left a welp.

Looks like my cams are bent and the groove has a dent in it. What are the odds first shot after being at the bow shop? Anyone else have this happen and how much will it cost?

Luckily I have a back up bow or If be more upset than I already am.

I would take it back and let them know what happened. Honestly don't know what they could have done to make it break but who knows? Maybe someone with more experience will chime in on the subject..

It was a couple inches above the peep

I would talk to the shop. It may not have been anything they done, however, if the tech that worked on it could have nicked the string accidentally.

Yes he drew it back twice after taken out of press. The strings weren't very old I had just asked the guy when I should replace strings said they looked ok he would before next season

Did the string break at or under the serving? There might have been something hiding for a while under the serving. I saw several accidents waiting to happen come through when I had my bow shop. Most had damage that was hidden. The only reason they brought it in was because "it didn't feel right" or the peep had started moving. Upon inspection I noticed a split in the serving and frayed strands. When I took the serving off, there were usually several broken strands. The worst I saw had half of the strands broken under the serving.

Sorry for your loss, but at least you were not hurt. Hope it doesn't set you back too much to get it shooting again.
