Today I sprung for a new Barnett Quad 400. It shoots great, but seems to be loud. I'm sure that it is no louder than it is supposed to be, but I can't help to wonder if it can be quietened down some. Someone posted on another thread that he saw someone put spray foam into the frame and it helped. So, I'm wondering what kind of things that have been seen or tried to help reduce noise?

How to make a loud crossbow more quiet?

Tuned and a new string. I was at Rednek Booda Outdoors and saw Jerry putting a new string on a Mission x-bow, sucker was quiet when he was done with it. Those factory strings are garbage, for one thing, and Jerry was tuning it like a bow, taking the cam lean out and spent about an hour tweaking it. They don't do that at the factory

I am sure it's taken a few feet per second off of the velocity, but at 345 fps to start with I'm not worried.
