    Anywhere close to Austin to site in new compound?

    I've got a brother who has a friend who has a son who just got a new compound bow. He's got 4 pins on it, and sited one of them for 20 yards at an indoor range (Archery Country, I think). He wants to site the other ones in at longer distances. I was wondering if anybody knew where I could take him that's close to Austin. I don't have a membership at the Austin Archery Club.

    Thanks.

    you can do it there in your back yard , all you need is up to 7 yds,
    inother words 3 yds=40yds
    5yds= 30yds and 7 yds = 20yds,
    now you still need to fine tune your pins, but can still hunt with that.
    SOMEBODY correct me if I am WRONG.

      Interesting! I had never thought of that. I guess the theory is that if the arrows travel in a parabola, then it will cross the same horizontal plane twice--once just after release, and once just before impact.

      I don't imagine it would be perfectly accurate, though, since the arrow doesn't actually travel in a perfect parabola, given wind resistance and all. But it's a neat theory, and I suppose it's better than nothing.

            Tell him to go back to Archery Country with $20 CASH. They sell Austin Archery Club late season memberships (August till Dec 31) for $20. He will have to complete and sign a membership form and hand over the $20 CASH. They will not accept a Credit or Debit card for the membership. I just joined last week. This is my second late season membership. For twenty dollars it really can't be beat. They do have a really nice facility. Broadheads are NOT allowed on premises though. http://austinarcheryclub.com/join.html
