I have never used the Ripcord so I can't comment on it, but I have a QAD LD and love it. Just as long as you get the timing right on it, it does an awesome job.

QAD HDX- you can let down and the arm stays up, there's no risk of the arrow slapping the shelf if you have to let down.

Rip-Cord-allegedly made of all metal on the inside (as compared to plastic inside the QAD) so SUPPOSEDLY they're more durable and less prone to failure.

Flip a coin and you win either way. I run a QAD HDX on the last few bows I have.

I have a Rip-Cord and it has worked great, but I do like the let down feature on the QAD.

I prefer the thumb paddle location on the Rip-Cord a little better.

All said, I'd go QAD if buying today.

I was told at the bow shop that the ripcord makes some slight noise because of an internal mechanism. So I went with a QAD.

Either or, both are good products, QAD has the let down feature, but ripcord is more durable IMO, I have had a QAD fail once but also seen a ripcord that had with a clicking sound (which was exchanged by the manufacturer quickly and with no questions asked). You can search all over the internet on this debate and its generally right down the middle 50/50 on which is better.
