Rage practice tip questions?

Hello everyone:

I just got a new Tenpoint Titan Extreme today.
After a few shots I had it dialed in with my field tips.
I went out then at 30 and 40 yards and things were pretty good.

I put the rage practice tip on and fired at 40 and was surprised to find I was off low and to the left about 2 - 3 inches.

I was expecting low but not to the left.

I moved back to 20 yards and it was the same low and to the left.

I finally after a lot of adjusting got it back dialed in.

I have seen where most say they are about the same as field tips. Any suggestions as to why it was off?

I was using both a 125 grain field tip and 125 grain rage practice tip.
Using the bolts that came with the bow- carbon

The tip was cleaned well removing all the foam after pulling it from the target.
The tip was tight and not loose.

Is it possible the tip and bolt are not matched and I need a stiffer spline?

No clue on a crossbow!

Out of my Matrix they shoot spot on out to 40 yards. Same with my nephew's Ibex.

I always like to sight in with the head I hunt with. I use practice tips for.......well......practice.

The Rage practice heads I have used shoot just like my field tips.

Did you spin test them? Rages still need to spin straight with no wobble or they probably aint gonna hit exactly like a field tip.

Rage advertises Rage broadheads and practice broadheads to fly like field points for compound bows. My broadheads and practice broadheads group the same but do not group like my field points. Everything is 100 grains and there was no change in other factors (ie. draw length, draw weight, etc.).Their claim does not work out for me in compounds so doubt it works out for crossbows either.

I am too. Not sure why a crossbow would be different. But I dont know much about archery.

I'm going to buy some 100 grain rage tips. Go back to the 100 grain field tips it came with.
Everything I've read the only thing I can figure out that the bolts are underspined.
I guess I'll find out if the 100's shoot the same.

The 125's would fly low and to the left with the rage practice tip on.

Very frustrating for sure when most say they all fly the same

Ok I said I would post this. I don't know if it will help anyone out in the future but here it goes.

I went back and bought 100 Grain Rage Tips this weekend.

I put the Tenpoint crossbow on a Leadsled to guarantee no movement and accurate shots.

I put 100 grain field tips back on and zeroed in at 30 yards using the second dot on the scope.

I used the same bolt each time.

I then took the same bolt and put the 100 grain Rage practice tip on.

The rage bolt did not go any to the left this time like the 125 grains did but it did drop about an inch.

So after 9 clicks up on the scope it was zeroed in at 30.

Next shot dead on at 20 yards on the first dot.

Next shot dead on at 40 yards on the third dot.

When its said that the Rage tips fly exactly like field tips I guess it depends on what your definition is of the same. The same to me does not equal 1 inch lower. But I guess that is close.

Now in regards to the variance with the 125 grain Rage practice tips my only conclusion is that the bolt is underspined. I not only got a significant drop but also an inch and a half plus movement to the left.

In all of Tenpoints tests they publish they use all 100 grain field tips. I think its wise for a beginner to stick to that in my opinion. It makes your lines on your scope work perfectly for 20/30/40/50 yards. When I had the 125 grain tips on the lines did not correspond to the 10 yard increments. Its not the end of the world but it made it a little more complicated. With the 100 grain tips its perfect.
