    Crossbow Package Help

Hello Everyone, I wanted to ask if anyone had a little misses shooting a crossbow. What is it and why did that work out.
She loves to hunt and wants to shoot a bow but because of an injury to her left arm she can't hold a compound bow straight enough to be accurate.

Any advice in what to look for a lady crossbow.

Looking at the mission 320 but it on the pricy side. Trying not to spend over 400.

Any TBHers have a used one ??????!!!!!!!!!!

    Her points are:

    Compact limbs
Light because she can't hold it up very long in a tree stand.
    100-150 lbs
With a easy view reticule. not the mulit-line, she does care for that with good eye relief.

I have a very litely used Horton Vision 175 kit for sale

I have a very good litely used vision 175 crossbow that might be a good fit for her. It has several extra bolts and an extra acc. kit with it.

IMO if you are going to buy a crossbow the ONLY option out there is an Excalibur

Please elaborate. I'm interested in the Excalibur, 10 Point and Barnett.

I bought a Barnett Wildcat C5 a few weeks ago at Native Outdoors in Royce City, east of Dallas. The package (x-bow, quiver, 3 bolts and scope) listed at $369 but I got them to throw in the cocking rope for free.
I researched these things for quite awhile and although I probably could have afforded more I have heard overwhelmingly positive reviews of the Wildcat C5. I wouldn't really consider it a "entry level" x-bow but most probably will...I think it is a great combination for the price.
I found a place online through Amazon that has it listed at $350 but I wanted to buy from a SHOP I can trust to service it in the event I have any issues.

The folks at Native Outdoors are pretty stand up guys!
Native Outdoors offers firearms, gun accessories, ammunition, game cameras, deer feeders, fish feeders, automatic trap throwers, archery gear, fishing and hunting gear with great prices.

Weight is a big concern. My wife shot a crossbow for a while and her biggest complaint was the weight. Some are really heavy and she coundn't hold the crossbow up for a long length of time. We did compensate for the weight by using a tri-pod shooting stick but they are cumbersome to fool with too.

Cant go wrong on the enforcer package by Parker. A lot of crossbow get very bulky now. I have found this one is awesome for smaller frame people. Check them out. Very well made

Another concern is being about to cock it. We had to put a crank on my wifes crossbow.

I believe they are much simpler since they are a recurve instead of compound. The biggest seller is that they can safely be uncocked without firing a bolt. I bought my parents the cheapest one they make a few years ago, my mom robin hooded two bolts at 30 yards after 15 minutes shooting it. With them there is not near as much to go wrong, they come apart in seconds for easy storage and they are known to have a great reputation when it comes to customer service. The only downside is they are not as fast as some, but are still over 300fps

hate to tell you boss but tp crushes excal. in every dept. better performance, better technology, better upgrading choices, better warranty and the best cs in the business. they are pricey but you get what you pay for. I have owned several makes and models but my ten point turbo xlt took the cake.

Uncocking and storage of the crossbow are not major concerns of mine. I am more concerned with accuracy, noise, speed, size, weight, quality of the optics and how often I am going to be replacing strings/limbs.

EXCALIBUR vixen.. They even have a pink model. Compact allot of women shoot them . I have had many different makes of crossbows. I have had my excalibur since 2010 and it will be the last one I buy. Recurve design is as maintenance free as it gets . You can change strings in about 2 minutes with no press required. And when the hunt is over you don't have to shoot a bolt into the ground to decock it. Excels warranty is second to none... Cabelas or basspro carries excalibur if you wanna try them... You will find in your research that excalibur and tenpoint are head and shoulders above the others. Wicked Ridge is made by tenpoint they are alittle cheaper and quality. Stay away from Horton as they went out of business recently... A website called crossbownation has tons of info...
