Broadhead question

Ok my wife just bought me a new bow and I have always shot the regular 100gr. Muzzy broadheads because they are cheaper than most other brands. So, my question is: What makes 1 broadhead better than another?

I haven't bow hunted a whole lot in my life, so any input is greatly appreciated. Do certain bows like certain broadheads, like how guns pattern differently with different ammo?

It's all about shot placement and personal preference.

If you tune your bow it will shoot any bh. It's purely preference. I live a big cut expandable!

I'm a big fan of fixed broadheads. No moving parts and always works.
Check out the Hades by Grim Reaper.
Bottom line: as long as it's sharp and accurate, it'll get the job done.

A sharp stick will kill if places correctly. Personally, I prefer swhackers and rage 3 blades

like others have said with a well tuned bow you can shoot any B/H. I like swhackers or Ramcats both great heads. its were you stick'em that counts. both fly like field tips.

To answer your question. Quality in a broad head will make it more accurate, easy to tune, durable, and have razor sharp blades.
The other question about a bow preferring one head over another. No! But the spine of the shaft will make a big difference.

Yep to all the above. I prefer Grim Reapers but have killed with others too.

What kind of draw weight is she shooting and how long of draw? Low pounds and a short draw length pretty much rule out big expandables.

My wife will be hunting with a spyder 30 this year. Drawing in the mid thirties, 26" draw... She'll be using 100 or 125 shwackers. Easy to sharpen, cut on contact design (critical to get good penetration with low poundage) and strong as all get out. I can't even damage one with my 70lb carbon element..
