I'm sure he means the bow's full potential with his DL limitations. I also shoot a short DL and would want my bow shooting at it's best at all times because of the lack of DL

OnTarget 2 says you should be in the 270ish range with that setup...

The main problem is that you are shooting a 340 when u should be shooting a 350. At a 27" dl you are maximizing the performance of a bow made to up to 31". Your not using all the a available performance it has. Would u by an 70# bow and only put it at 50#? basically the same thing with the DL. If you want max performance from a bow shoot one that you will use the maximum amount of its ability. Like said above its all in the DL.

The D340 is a 7" brace and the D350 is a 6" brace. Many folks want the more forgiving 7" brace and its going to be a little slower naturally.

I don't understand your reasoning behind the 85% performance comment when it is an apples to oranges comparison Jack. I also don't understand how you relate it to shooting a 70 lb bow at 50lbs.....especially as it relates to him shooting only 260 in a bow that should do 275-280 at his current specs.

I grasp what you're saying.
The efficiency of the bow, due to lack of cam rotation by being 4 inches shorter than the max DL, is minimized.
Still though, there are certain factors to be considered to calculate what a bow SHOULD do at any DL, and that's what we're trying to figure out.
