    Arrow vane question

I got a good deal on some high quality carbon arrows, but they came with 4" vanes on them. I have only been shooting a bow for a year and I've only shot arrows with 2" vanes. Before I cut these new arrows to size, I was wondering if there's anything I should know about shooting 4" vanes vs 2" vanes?

Depends on your setup, bow, speed, Broadheads, etc. I shoot a 2" blazer vane with 3 degree helical on the vanes. That offers maximum stabilization for my arrow and recovery out of the bow, especially for fixed Broadheads. In theory, a larger vane does offer more stabilization than short vanes for a straight fletch. May not be bad, just a different style.

They should prob be fine but I do feel the blazers are better

I never liked long vanes..... Just a personal preference. It should stabilize your broadheads better, in theory.

blazers are stiffer & control broadhead flight better. e-z fletch is a good set-up if u fletch ur own...

Not this again. There are 2 inch vanes then there are 2 inch broad head vanes such as blazers.

Old arrows are Gold Tip XT Hunters with whatever 2" vanes come on them. New arrows are Beman MFX Team Realtree with something called 4" Quick Spin vanes. Once my new arrow cutter arrives I will just cut them and see how the 4" vanes perform compared to what I was previously shooting.

If you don't like them, strip them off and refletch em!
