Arrow weight question

Just had my bow restrung and tuned. He had me switch arrows from a Beman ICS 340 to a CX Maxima hunter 250 to get it to tune properly. I didn't realize until later that my new arrows only weigh right at 350 grains. Bow is set at 28.5" draw and 62 lbs. using a 100 grain tip at 297fps. I haven't added my hunting wrap or nockturnal yet, so that will add just a little.

Bow is shooting MUCH more accurately now and is quite a bit faster. I'm used to shooting a heavier arrow, and just wanted to get some opinions on my new arrow weight. I just hunt hogs and whitetail.

Adding the wraps and lighted nocks will add weight to the rear of the arrow, stiffening the spine some. IMO a person should spend more time worrying about correct arrow length and spine, than weight and speed.

But at 297 FPS you should be able to effectively kill everything you shoot.

I believe I have the right length and spine, finally...just wanted to get another opinion on the weight.

Lost a many of arrow with that almost exact set up after a pass thru.

If the bow is set to that arrow as it is, don't change it. You also changed from a stiffer arrow (340 spine) to a 400 spine arrow. A heavier arrow is imo, better than a lighter arrow.

You could look into so heavier inserts if you're really concerned.. Or move to 125 broadheads, that would be easier.. Either will help out FOC and quiet your bow down.. If it's wicked accurate I'd probably leave it alone

For whitetails and most hogs he is perfectly fine. I saw a 350 grain arrow at 35 pounds and 26 inch draw smoke thru a doe last year.

I prefer to stick around 380-420. It's a happy medium between speed and weight to help silence your bow.

That can be true. But how many inches farther in the dirt do i need my arrows to stick in the dirt after blowing thru a whitetail??? Hold on let me show you something. Ive posted this here before.

365 grains. Running around 300fps. 1-1/4X1-1/4 Grizz trick. Busted shoulder on entrance. Cracked the femur on exit. This was a big east texas doe not a small hill country one. She was approx 15 yards. Full length pass thru.

That was a 250 Maxima set off a 60 pound Bowtech 82nd.
