    Release troubles

First time shooting my bow, trying out my brand new Cobra Mamba R1 swing away release. Worked fine first few shots, but now it releases the arrow as I draw back. Though maybe I hit the trigger but no, at about 1/3 drawback it open up and released the arrow. Any ideas?

Also, being new I need to know. Are the releases suppose to be heavy? As in I feel as though in pulling about a 12lb trigger to let the arrow go. I mean its a rough hard pull.

Just tighten up the spring that's in there. Then hook it to the dloop hold your string and pull and that will tell you if you have it tight enough.

Any of the releases listed have a set screw for the trigger tension that can back out. Check for a very small hex screw and either screw it in or out until it stops opening prematurely.

Also as far as the release happening. I just did a few test with the tension screw. It held the first 2 draw backs then none of the rest. It seems as though the d-loop is sliding right through the finger pinch area of the release. How close is the contact suppose to be between these two points? There's a small gap in mine which I'm starting to think is the reason why it's also a really hard trigger release. Input?

Might be a faulty release. Call the company and talk to them see if they can fix it for you or give your mOney back...

Have you ever tried a hook style release like a tru ball beast or Scott silver horn?? IMO they are worth the money

What brand release it is? How about a picture of the jaws to see if they are closing properly.
