    Thumb or finger release???

I currently shoot a Scott goose finger release, but after shooting target archery I have heard that switching to a thumb release is the way to go. Has anybody made this switch recently?? If so does it make a difference? And also, if anybody has a used thumb release they want to sell or get rid of near college station let me know.

I have gone from a finger to a thumb release several years ago and will not go back. Much easier to shoot and 99% of every target shooter and top 3d shooter uses one. It wil change your anchor and peep possibly, but I think it will help your accuracy. I did to help and eleviate my TP.

Literally just made the switch about 3 days ago exactly for my issue with target panic. I have always been a strap release shooter and have wanted to try a thumb release but have always been too stubborn. I just got my new bow so I figured it would be a good time to make some major changes. I ended up going with the new Tru Ball Incredible, and so far I love it. I increased my draw length a half inch and had to move my peep and kisser, but after all was said and done
I did see an improvement in my consistency and better groups. I'm going out to the club today to shoot longer distances and ill let you know how it goes for me. So far I liking it quite a bit. My fingers are a little sore, but I'll get used to it after a while. I'd say give It a shot. If your near college station your welcome to come by the shop and shoot mine.

I love my thumb release's. i have some that costed well over $200. I hate em for hunting tho. I shoot my Scott Wildcat for hunting. Ive dropped my thumb releases out of the tree diggin out of my pack. Caught myself jacking with cocking mechanism when i got bored making noise. You name it.

Ragin', you are just a fumble fingers on thumb releases! I do not sit in a stand so dropping them is not a problem. I have even used them in Africa 2 times with no problems. I use the Max 4 Pro and it is silent putting it on the string so no problems on a spot an stalk. I love mine, but that is just me.

Never tried this but my work well?

                  • Shrink your groups with the latest design in releases • Trigger is now positioned in-line with the hook • Adjustable tension for hunting or back-tension use • Hook is designed with a relief 360° to avoid loop interference during shot • 3-Finger model with padded nylon buckle wrist strap

Just started back up shooting my TruBalls Diamond Extreme again...had a mishap with it once and it scared me off for a while...had some issues with a TruFire HardCore (misfiring) so pulled the thumb release back out and found that I can truly shoot much better with it...I think it has to do with a solid anchor point, feels more solid than the wrist releases I have anyway...I say go for it!! Good luck!

X2 I did the same thing and it reduced my target panic almost to nothing
