    QAD or Rip Cord?

    Fellas,

Just sold my assassin with a rip cord for an BT insanity. Ebay has the drop aways as follows:

    rip cord: 77 shipped
    QAD : 97 shipped

Never had a problem with the rip cord, just seeing opinions and recommendations.

I'd spent 20 more and get the QAD.

I had a rip cord and i liked.. My brother in law did a test on some diffrent rest after a rip cord failed to drop away and found that at freezeing temps that the rip cord and a few others actully have a tendancy of not droping and causeing fletching contact..

So i went with the limb driver pro v on the pse dna

QAD HDX simply because you can let your bow down after drawing and the rest will stay up and still be fully contained. On the RipCord when you let the bow down after being at full draw, the rest drops and could possibly hit the shelf or riser of the bow and make noise. That's basically the only difference in the 2 rests. I had a RipCord Code Red and loved it for its accuracy and reliability but I sold that bow and the rest of my bows have had QADs. The devil is in the details and I don't want to risk scaring off a deer because the arrow clanks on something.

I've been very happy with my QAD the past 2 years. Put one on my wife's bow too. They are great drop aways.

Look into the G5s, no-there is no stand up after let off, but it does work on the up-cable, and no contact with the shelf. Containment isn't as good, but I haven't had an issue with it.

Never heard of a QAD being noisy? I had to oil the rip cord where the string was every few months but was super quiet.

I just ordered a ripcord red off of eBay. Was very happy with my last one, so why change?
