    Hoyt Spyder 30 reviews?

So I go to Double G's today to get my wife set up with a new bow and Paul puts a new Spyder 30 in my hand. CRAP now I need a new bow and I REALLY liked the feel of this thing. I would like to here from some of the guys that have and shoot this bow. I am doing lots of homework on it but all the reviews have been from first time shot types of reviews, but as we all know we figure out the issues after we have shoot it for awhile. I would like to here as many good, bad and uglies I can get before I go give Paul all my money. Thanks for the help!!

I shot the first one Paul got in quite a bit the first day he had it and liked it. I was really impressed with how quite it was.

We've been selling a few of the 30 and couple of Turbo 34. Haven't found anything wrong yet with them and been testing them for 2-3months. Only advice I really have if you're a 29"+ DL you might look at the 34 due to string angle at full draw and would be more forgiving. They both get similar speed. Good luck in your selection. Lots of great bows out there.

nope 27" works for me. at the moment the only draw back i have ( being a south paw ) is that I have always shot 70# bows and this one is a 60#er. im not sure how much I will loose dropping poundage.

27". Then I think the Sypder 30 would be great. Speed wise I tested one 60lbs with 350 gr arrow 28"DL and got 290-292 I believe.

I shot the 30/34 and the Turbo extensively 2 weeks ago. I'm in love with the Spyder 30. I have a 28" draw and the string angle is perfect for me. I love the grip and the way the bow handles. It seems to be quiet at the shot. The best part of that bow is the smile and wow factor every time you pull it back. I was shooting it at 60# (maxed out around 62#) and it was so smooth that I had to slow my draw down because I was rocking the back wall causing the bow to shake. After I slowed down it was even better....60# felt more like 50#.

At 10 yards with a whisker biscuit and no sights or peep, I was shooting a 2-3" group. It's not the fastest bow but I'll bet you could get 285-290 or so with a light arrow like a DOA Flatline or CE Maxima Blue Streak at 60-62#.

I will get one for a backup or to switch up from my Destroyer 350 every once in awhile. The ONLY thing that made me not like it was the new Realtree Xtra vs the Realtree AP they have used since 08/09. The new camo is lighter in color and just doesn't look as good as the older bows. That being said, it wouldn't stop me from buying one, it's really the only nitpick I have. My D350 is black so I was wanting my backup to be camo, but it's just a personal preference.

I'm in love with mine. Smooth draw and the let off is awesome. I'm actually debating on selling my 12 element for another spyder!!

I shot the Spyder30 at Double Gs as well and I LOVE how smooth it draws back and how quite it shoots! I'm just bummed that I couldn't buy it since we're looking into buying a house and all the money needs to go to that now, but if we weren't I'd have that bow already!!
