    Need to drop speed!

I'm not sure how much speed an arrow will slow down by moving from a 100 gr tip to a 125 but I need to drop about 10-12 fps. to be able to shoot ASA.

I'm cruisin at 309 fps right now with a 2012 Hoyt Vector RKT. 60-70# limbs.
Shooting GTs with 3" fusion vanes and a 100 gr tip.
Is cranks down to 74# and I have it backed out 2 turns. I'm not sure what the poundage is set at. I'd guess around 68#

Need suggestions to drop my speed down to 298 fps.

If I move to a 125 tip, will that be enough?
    Should I lower my DW?
Or both? I don't have to much time to play with my set up because I'd like to shoot the ASA at CCR this weekend.

    Thanks!

Usually about 1 GPS for every 2.5-3gr of weight. So you'll be real close to 298 but could drop about 2lbs and should be alright after that.

Be sure to hit the crono after you have shot for a while in the heat. i got DQ'ed at a shoot last year. i pulled my bow out of the case went to get it certified at the shoot then later in the day they re-checked and my bow was shooting 302

Only draw back about half way!

Lowering down to mid 60s and adding arrow weight should get you there.

25gr. should be around 8fps for your set up!

Meant to say 1 FPS instead GPS.

Mac, be careful. Adding weight to the tip will reduce your effective arrow spine. You will probably need to retune. If it were me, I'd switch to a heaver/stiffer arrow, and a retune is still necessary- but it's more in line with the bow. Just my two cents.

3 grains usually equates to 1 FPS as stated above.

You can keep your arrow setup the way it is, just turn down the poundage. It'll benefit you in it'll be less tiring to shoot all day and get you in the speed that you want to be.

A few pounds of DW should do the job.

I think I'm over spined already.
                          It may help.
