When I run a multi pin head I usually do incriments of 10 starting at 20. I skip the half yardages.

    20,30,40,50,60....

I have a 7 pin Large Guard Spot Hogg I run out to 80 in the same format.

5-20 will be about the same.. After 20 is when you will see more dropping.. Most people start with a 20 at the top and go in 10 yd increments..

5 pins set at 10 yard increments from 20 to 60. I cannot get 5 yard increments at the closer ranges and besides, the pins would bump together and that is even at 270 fps. When I was shooting 300+ fps, my pins were really jammed together.

Mine is 10 (in case I need to finish off a close range wounded animal) and then 20, 30 and 40 yard increments but I like to keep all my shots under 30.

a friend of mine shot a doe through both eye's, his arrow hit an unseen limb and deflected. naturally she was blinded instantly. we spent several hours chasing her through out the night, and finally ran her to near death , before we could get close enough to kill her. this was one of the most horrible hunting experiences i have ever had. I will never forget it and NEVER intentionally shoot any deer in the head, and certainly hope you are just kidding about doing this. because sooner or later it will end badly

He was kidding. I believe only made one head shot and was with a gun. It was a definite kill shot. DRT and missing pieces of skull. Big pieces.

Snipermedic, you are an idiot and shouldn't pass on crappy info like that. Who in thier right mind would shoot at a deer in the head with archery equ? Im not trying to be a jerk, I'm just saying what everyone else is thinking. Anyone agree???

                            1. It was a joke. Its my brothers post so a was joking even more so to him. 2. I never recommend shooting a deer in the head with a bow. Period!!!! I do with a rifle but that's me and I'm capable of doing it. some people are, some people aren't but I am with a rifle.
                            3. Anyone that knows even just a little about archery knows that even a 10 pound kids bow and a 500gr. Arrow would not need that little pin gap at those ranges stated. Plus I don't know of any sight that's capable you that little pun gap and still have enough daylight to see. It would be a solid wall. 4. My next post was one of a lot better detail helpful information. So you could that I'm not really and idiot and was truely joking, but if you still can't figure it out with my 3 total post's that I'm not and idiot, well I guess the jokes on you then.
