Bowtech assassin removing factory bowhead string dampeners?

Anyone ever removed these bowjax looking string dampeners without using a bow press and removing strings? I'm too scared to try cutting them with a razor. Wanting to try out monkey tails instead of the bowjax looking ones.

If the string runs through them, you will need to press the bow or fish cutting the string.

Cut em off. Its easy just be careful.

Screw a bunch of monkey tails. Wont work any better, last less and is like wearing nike shoes with Reebok socks.

Rubber cat whiskers is my suggestion
