    climbing tree stand...

ok, just pulled the trigger on my first climbing tree stand. After 3 days of searching on the net, comparing everything out there ( and theres lots to pick from ) I finally chose the Summit Dagger SD. 225.00 and it will be here Tues. It sure is hard to pick when I have no personal experience with a climber, but after reading all the reviews (and I mean all), basically it came down to weight and price. lightest and least expensive. I sure hope I chose wisely, cause my wife said that I'm through spending money on this for this year! I bet I've spent upwards of 2 grand so far (probably closer to three) just to get outfitted... guess I'm going to have to sell one of my motorcycles if I want to get anything else...

That's a good choice. I did the same thing since my old one was 25+ years old. It's a hard thing to choose. I ended up with the Summit Razor, but haven't climded anything but a tree in my yard. Maybe I'll have a chance to get it out in the next week.

Get ready to work your abs! Summit makes a great climber that's comfortable and light. The dagger will give you a workout not having the rail to sit on so it all core and upper body work.

Watch the instructional DVD, especially if you have never used a cli miner before. And I hope you didn't skimp on a safety harness either. Once you get the hang of it, you will be able to fly up a tree!

Everyone has there own opinion but I'd rather hunt out of a climber then any other stand. Its so versital and if your not scared of hights you can really get up into the canopy of a tree.
