A friend of mine hunts a lot of book hunts in South Texas and uses popup blinds. The trick he has found that works is to get 2 to 3 crow decoys and set them out. He puts a couple on the ground right in front of the blind and attaches one to the top of the blind. He says deer coming in drop their guard when they see the crows and come on in since they know crows would not be around if there was danger. Bought some myself but haven't tried it yet but it makes sense to me.

Brushing it in long before is the best.. But, I have put one up and two hours later shot a nice 8 point. Have also done it on hogs more time than I can remember are count.

I do it at my lease and the deer don't mind. But if I was going to a day hunt place. I brush the crap out of it and only leave one shooting lane just big enough for my arrow to clear. Set up off a road or sendero about 20 yards in the thickest cluster of brush I can find.

I've done it and had it work fine for me. Just brush in real good and you'll be OK.

I put one out about a week ago and tried to hunt it that afternoon and the next evening. Saw 4 dear total over the two hunts and every one of them were pretty freaked. None of them came closer than 45 yds and didn't stop moving more than a fraction of a second. I put mine about 12-15 yds off of the trails i was targeting but I must have put it too close. I think you'll be ok as long as you brush in good and don't put the blind too close to travel paths.

                  Just my 2 cents.

I actually moved a pop up yesterday around 2pm and hunted it this morning. Saw 7 bucks, all within 55 yards and none paid it any attention. I had a doe walk up 15 yards from me to check it out and then she turned and walked to the feeder.

Not brushed in at all, just sat it out there amongst some trees.
