What's wrong with getting replacement strings and cables from the bow manufacturer? I needed to replace them on my Trykon, and the shop tech said that they use custom strings. He probably would have ordered a set from Hoyt if I'd insisted, but was acting like I'd be an idiot if I didn't go with the custom strings. The custom set cost me about $135.00 tax and all. I think the Hoyt ones were around $60.00. Are the custom strings that much better? If they are, why would Hoyt, or any vow manufacturer, put inferior strings on their bows?
