    I did the dumbest thing.....

I was trying to testout what I thought was an injured shoulder. I pulled back on my bow and s@%* dry fired my bow. I bout it just a few months back and now it is in the shop. I am moat Lilly done for the season. I don't know how I will get it out for the rest of the season.

I don't know why I am posting this I feel like such a dumb a**. I am glad I did not get hurt and the bow was not completely distroyed.

As I sit in Sunday school maybe this happened because I was spending to much time with my bow and not in Gods house or with my family. Anyway I have learned my lesson.

It was an Assassin. I will post a update on Tuesday as to what will have to be replaced.

You could be lucky not have to replace any thing... As far as spending too much time with ur bow...NAAAHHHH!!!! :-)

Don't know what is wrong with your shoulder, but I went to an orthopedic. Without doing an MRI, he suggested a few exercises that worked our my shoulder pretty quick. Good luck.

You had a brain fart, I dont think there was any higher power involved in it. We are free to make our own decisions whether theyre good ones or not.

Assassins don't take dry fires very well unfortunately. Usually your bust your cams and your main string.Sometimes the two cables can be salvaged,And limbs usually come out alright. Sorry to hear about accident. Like you said, at least you weren't hurt.A bow can be replaced.

Some bowtechs on another forum suggest that Limbsavers will decrease amount of damage, not eliminate from a dry fire.

Not sure I buy that theory.

It is funny you that because the lower cam looks ok and there is a limb saver on the lower cam. The upper cam is bent.

Sorry to hear that. If you draw back in the future, be sure to nock an arrow. It's put a hole in my wall once, but saved my bow. Much cheaper to repair the drywall.

I feel your pain. Hopefully it's nothing serious.

this ^^ a friends uncle dry fired my assassin a month ago and I got new cams, strings, slider, peep, and limbs.

that was with my dw @ 55#

limbs were probably still.good but since it wasn't my mistake I went ahead and got them replaced.

sorry to hear about your bow brother. I missed my entire first bow season over someone else dry firing my bow. I know the feeling of disappointment you must have right now.

                          Hi,Jake

Sorry it took awhile to get your bow running again. The parts were ordered at the same time, but came in to the shop on three diff dates. Strings first, cams a week later, and limbs came in 2 days before you picked it up. Hope its working alright for you.

Looks like cams, limbs, string and cables. $$$$$. The Alverado bow shop is taking care of it. I hope to be back in the game in a couple weeks or less. Looks like I will be out with the old 25-06 this weekend. I have learned a costly lesson. Just glad no one got hurt.

Not a problem at all, I know how these things go! It's shooting better than ever and I actually got to sit in a stand with it last weekend finally!

Most valuable thing that I learned from the whole experience is to NEVER let anyone handle my bow! lol
