Is this effective and How do you use it???

I received this for my birthday. It came together. Just wondering does anyone else use this, is it effective and if so, how do you use it effectively?? Thanks for any help.

I've seen them but I think real rattling horns sound way better but that's just my opinion, never seen them used by anyone or on tv lol..... But give them a try u never walk can walk out of the woods!

I've used them with success once. They broke but a six point came in looking for the fight.

      I ate him.

I've used one of those "rattle bags" very sucessfully but as stated by thorthunder, it has to be at the "right" time pre-rut, early rut before the bucks have locked down on a hot doe. USE EM

What about that little call in the pic? Does anyone use that? It does not sound like a grunt call. It has like a band on the inside that you move it up or down to adjust.

Hey Lance , I used to use real horns and then had a set of these that you have. Got tired of trying to pack them and use them, plus it never failed I would smack a finger while using them . I switched to the Knight and Hale Rattle pack , called in around a dozen bucks using them last year. Easy to use , compact , and sounds pretty darn realistic. Pair that with a good grunt call and you are in business. I rattled and grunted in a big 14 pointer last year but he was so close I could not get turned and make the shot. The only deer it didn't work on was a nice 8 that was literally in hot pursuit of a doe that came past my stand about 90 MPH

They'll work fine. I used to lug around sheds, but went to the smaller rattle bag. It is just easier to carry, and manage on a tripod, etc.

The difference in sound (if they actually is any) won't make a difference to a rutting buck.

                  Use 'em .....
