When yall use ur pop ups, how many windows do u open? Several? Or just one aimed at feeder/trail so its darker inside? How much shooting light do u loose? Kind of a rookie to pop ups.
One shooting window open, sit far back as possible and wear solid black.
X2. I stopped using pop ups last season just because I like being up in a tree because you have a better view and a different view from what your used to compared to being on the ground.

I'm on the fence about pop ups... I like that you don't have to be as conscious about your movements but really like the advantage of a tree stand to see more real estate.
I've got one pop up, a tripod, a lean-to and a lock on. Depending on if it's a "rough" morning, wind/weather, and activity as to what I hunt out of.
I also only leave one shooting window open but have several mesh covered viewing windows so I can see in several directions. I get claustrophobic after too many pop-up hunts in a row, so I like to mix in a tripod sit here and there. I prefer being elevated but there are too many great spots where only ground hunting will do.
I only open the one shooting window, but I will open just a tiny corner of windows to the sides. That way, if I hear movement to the side, I can very quietly lean over and peak out the side windows.

I have a couple windows open towards the feeder. And sit far back in it and wear all black. I also have a treestand over the feeder that I prefer to hunt out of, but when the weather gets nasty or I dont have the wind for the treestand I'll be in the ground blind.
Im goin on a hunt the weekend of oct 6 in lampasas. He said no trees big enuff for ladder stand. Said tripod or ground blind. Got a couple of friends that said i could borrow a pop up. I done have a tripod either. I assume brush in verry well.
I had a ground blind that had the multiple windows and after it had seen its better days I bought a Double Bull and it has the kind of windows where you can really open up the front as little or as much as you want. It keeps me from having the one window and I feel more comfortable in it as I can see more around me. This is my 3rd year with it, its still in great shape, I set it up around dove season and take it down after the season is over. It was worth the extra money to me from the sight of view issue and with the overall material quality. I do like Tubby does. I have 2 tripods a ladder and the ground blind in a couple of different areas and I change it up depending on whats coming in to one particular area and the wather.
I prefer an elevated stand myself. Unfortunately there are far too many places I hunt that finding the right tree, or any usable tree, for a tripod or ladder or anything, isn't possible so it makes it possible for me to bowhunt in places I otherwise would be limited.
