I just got a new bow that is relatively heavy, at least compared to my Mathews Hyperlite. Jerry at RBO set it up for me and after both of us shot the bow he said I may not even need to put a stabilizer on it. Maybe for longer shots (which i probly will be taking here in NV) but inside 30 yds he didnt seem to think it was necessary. I shot it today at 20 and 30 yds with no problems. My question is how many of you shoot without one?

I have always used a stabilizer especially for western hunting where longer shots are often necessary. I have been using a 11 inch octane. However, due to a recent rib injury, I have taken the stabilizer off to decrease the overall weight in my left hand. I shot at 30, 40, and 50 tonight and was very pleased. I will be shooting it at longer distances tomorrow to see how it does.
