    Beman Bone Collector

I just purchased some Beman Bone Collector arrows for $15 at Academy. For that price I figured I couldn't pas it up! The only problem is, they come from the factory cut at 29" with the HIT inserts already installed. I shoot my arrows a little shorter. Is it possible to remove these inserts with out damaging the arrows??

Wouldn't think so, they are expoxied in, depending on how short you want to go you could cut them down and put a new insert in them.

Just strip the vanes, cut the back end of the arrow and refletch. Will work just fine!

Remove your nock. Put a drill bit that just fits the I.D. of the arrow in it. Hold the arrow point up while keeping the drill bit in it with you hand and swing the arrow downward with a lof of force. Do this in the yard bacause the insert and the drill bit will come will fly out. It usually will hit the ground right in front of you. Works very well.

Remove the nock and put a drill bit into the shaft. Hold it point up and fling it down toward the ground. The bit and insert will come out and hit the ground. Make sure you do it in the yard where it won't hit anything. I've done it dozens of times.

What South Paw said sounds like an ER trip sooner or later. Not bein a jack wagon here. But it might damage the inside if the shaft to where you cant see it.
