NAP Deep Six inserts - help me out here: do I need different inserts to shoot these?

All I see on the website is only compatible with deep six inserts and work with Easton Axis arrows. Do I have to buy special inserts to use for my arrows in order to use these broadheads?

Seems like a bad design idea if so...hard to tell people you have to set your stuff up such that it can only be used with these broadheads. Or maybe it's brilliant marketing if it works!

I'd like to shoot the new 1.75" deep six maxx expandable with the chisel tip but I'm not buying arrows and inserts specially set up just for these points...

    Thanks.

Well, I think I answered my own question. Just took a little more web browsing. There are definitely different inserts sold by Lancaster archery for deep six versus std HIT inserts. Guess I'm going to be outta luck on shooting these broadheads...

Not sure I understand your question completely.

From what I have read and heard from the mftg rep from Easton - the Deep Six small bore arrows do require a special insert. But I was told that you can shoot any BH with a Deep Six arrow; however, they do make and market "special" Deep Six BHs with NAP.

Is it possible that Easton designed the Deep Six inserts with a different thread pattern than conventional inserts to force you to use the NAP Deep Six BHs ??? Anyone know the answer ?

True story. Deep six broadheads are only designed to fit into the new easton injections arrows. They are a super small diameter arrow much smaller than the axis. It's my understanding that they slimed down and lengthened the ferrules on the broadheads to allow it to align better with the arrow. Of course marketing says smaller diameter arrow better penetration less wind drag yada yada yada, but at 160 a dozen I will let someone else try them first.

gotcha - didn't realize the injextion (or however they spell it) arrows were even smaller diameter. dang, that's getting skinny! i don't have any desire to spend that kind of money on arrows either.

            thanks guys.

Lot of money for smaller diameter.

If Brand X @ a certain GPI drives through a deer and is generating X amount of KE, what are you really gaining by the smaller diameter arrow? Good marketing ?

It's like shooting small diameter in field archery. Big penetration with low poundage at an above average distance.
