I'll also throw in, Make sure your bow is back in the same tunning. Cam rotation, brace height, axel to axel, ect... I make my own strings and with my AlphaMax just a little difference in tunning makes a LOT of difference in noise and vibration. The string stop will definatly help as will whiskers. The whiskers don't have to be big either. A 1 inch ball is as big as you need. Use a constrictor knot and they are easy to tie in.

I'll shoot when I get back and post my findings. Family and I are on our way to Bulcher, TX for some trail riding. It's prolly gonna be about round 8 tonight tho.

I think that the cat whiskers look better on a bow anyway, gives it more customization.

Try this I do it when hunting. Tie a fat rubber band just on top of your loop . It will quiet your bow alot have tried and it doesnt seem to slow the shot.Did more to quiet the shot than everything else Ive tried. Only lasts a couple shots but works real well.

sorry it took so long for feedback.. i shot today with a string stop on and really didnt hear any difference. i did a chrono test and i gained 22 fps with my new strings (crazy huh?) i believe the louder sounds is because of the speed gain. on other note, i did find that my little $5 limbsaver stabilizer does better vibration dampening than my $50 octane..

That's awesome on the speed.. But the sound is interesting. Have a friend shoot a video so I can hear it please

I use a cat whisker that I cut in half and tied into the bowstring. Very effective. Never cared for string leeches and they never lasted very long.

You gained 22 fps by putting on a new string? Seriously? I am not going to say it CANT happen, but that kind of speed increase generally DOESN'T happen with a new string alone. With all things being the same, draw weight, arrow weight, draw length, please explain how that is possible. And if you did actually gain that much speed, that will be the source of your noise increase. A heavier arrow will slow you down and quiet you down at the same time.

Not sure what string stop your using but if u look on archery talk, a guy named coolhandluke makes some custom ones for the turbohawk.

I had a turbohawk and when i put catwhiskers on it, it was alot quiter. Good luck

The tune of the bow combined with new strings will increase speed. I have seen many excellent tuners such as Jerry over at RBO increase speed drastically. So correct a string set change usually does not make that big of a difference, but the set combined with a great tune can work wonders. The bow may not have been set up correctly before and now that it's tuned it's much more efficient. I'm pumped for you man!
God bless and have a great day!
