This is going to be an in depth review with a very unique perspective.
Mary and I both switched to Trifecta Broadheads this season to support one of our site sponsors. I first saw them when John Lusk did a review of them and ranked them as his number one of all time at the time. I went to their website and really liked what I saw. Dug deeper and found it to be a Texas company so I recruited him to be a site sponsor. (This by the way, we should all do. As a community forum it is up to each of us to bring value to the site we love so much and that can and should include recruiting sponsors and members.)
I keep saying this is Texas supporting Texas.
Mary shot a decent hill country buck with the 100 grain fixed single bevel which is nicknamed The Blender. She shoots about 45 lbs out of her Mathews Prima. He went about 60 yards with an easy to follow blood trail. Zipped through him like butter. Just turned the lunges to liquid. Hmmm. Nice.
I shot a hill country 8 at our small place in Harper with a 100 grain Whitetail Killa - a single bevel gator style mechanical. Ran about 20 yards and did a flip. Snowplowed and hit a dead cedar. I saw the white belly go airborne. But he got up again and ran off. Another 20 yards with a stupid blood trail. 60 lbs out of my Lift 29.5 and broke both shoulders, thus the snow plow.
In both instances when I gutted the deer the lungs were liquified. Looked like they had been run through a blender. Yes, there is some video of Mary’s but like always, I forgot to push the record button. Oops.
I got to be friends with the owner of Trifecta, Rob Schneider. Dude knows everyone. Fast forward to this last week. I invited myself to go along with Rob and his crew to the ATA in Indianapolis. I am in the airport now typing this. Rob not only let me come with, but introduced me as his friend to dang near everyone who is anyone in the industry.
Theo is one of Rob’s crew that was at the show with the rest of the cool people. Theo has killed everything but a blue whale with these heads. How do they fly? Theo killed a Nyala in South Africa with one at 142 yards. On video. Yeah, they fly really well. He also killed a cape buffalo with one of these mechanicals. They are that tough.
At the show I watched bow shop after bow shop stop by and look at the heads. They were pretty much all impressed and interested enough to place orders. I watched bow companies and their executives marvel over them. It’s the single bevel and the pop n lock they can’t get past.
But the best was FeraDyne. Two guys with FeraDyne badges are standing next to me fondling the 100 grain and 125 grain Whitetail Killa. I said “Comparing?”
The big one just smiles that evil grin., then says “Well, it sure is different “. And the smaller guy says “****.” And they put the heads back and walked off.
Even Rage with all their sales is not only taking notice of this broadhead, but is suitably impressed. I saw it with my own eyes and heard it with my own ears. And it kills critters dead, dead, dead.
You change the blades to change the size and weight of the head. You can swap back and forth between fixed and mechanical if you want to by swapping out the blades.
I now can consider Rob, also known by industry insiders as “Handsome Rob”, though I cannot understand why, as a good friend. And that is one ****** broadhead.
And new stuff is dropping soon Rhymes with titanium!
