Updating from a 2006 Bowtech Tribute - Thoughts?

    Howdy All

I am considering retiring my current hunting bow and upgrading to something newer. The Tribute is getting due for a new set of strings and the draw is a bit long after switching to a thumb release. Still shoots great and I enjoy it, but it seems the newer bows are lighter and nicer on the draw.

I am planning on getting out to the local store and fire off some arrows but I prefer buying a bow a flagship bow a few years old (and obviously hold on to.) Does anyone have any comments or recommendations? This is a strictly hunting bow and I am very intrigued by Bowtech's deadlock cam system for tuning between broad-heads and field points.

    Thanks.

Well first off if you havent looked at bows in a while get ready. The sticker shock will knock your socks off. I would get on Archerytalk.com and look for a used one. There are guys on there that upgrade every year or 2 and you can find some goood deals on bow. Good luck in what ever you choose.

Yeah, Some of my cars have cost less than a new flagship bow with the current prices!

I got a Bowtech Revolt X in 2021 I believe. 33" axle to axle. It's got a smooth draw and the deadlock system allows for quick and easy tuning. I always think about trying some other bow like a Hoyt or Mathews, but I just love that bow.

The exact bow I just purchased! I am looking forward to the deadlock system as I really enjoy tuning and dialing in an arrow combination. Probably more than it needs to be, but its half the fun for me.

Luckily used bows seem to plummet in price as the new hotness comes out. Got what I think is a very fair deal on a well cared for Revolt X. I'm glad I won't have to hunt down the right mods this time around.

Excellent! You’ll enjoy it. I’ve loved mine the last 2-3 seasons, sweet shooting bow!
