Currently shooting a 32'" ATA, but considering moving to a 34", found a killer deal on a VTM that is in new condition, just wondering thoughts on if anyone made a similar change, and did they really notice a difference. I hunt from platforms and rarely shoot out of a blind or enclosed area. Not sure if I will have a chance to shoot it before purchase, but considering my current bow is a 2011 model I'm assuming I will see a huge approvement. Just wondering if there would anu issues that I am not considering, or am I just overthinking the significance of 2"s.

First... a killer deal on a bow you're interested in is a killer deal, does the difference really matter? Practically, depending on your DL, there will be little to no improvement between 32 and 34 ATAs, in fact it could even be worse (not in this case, just in general). The shoot ability of a bow depends a lot of things, grip, your compatibility with the grip, brace height, dynamic brace height, riser stiffness, ability to get DL just right, a letoff that you shoot well etc.

ATA has influence on string angle to your release. Depending on how you anchor and how long your draw is it can be a factor. Short ATA bows are going to have a more acute angle which will get tighter as draw lengthens. Longer ATA will have a less acute angle than the shorter ATA bows. One of my anchor points is the tip of my nose and have found that some short ATA bows force me to lean my head in more to get that string contact. On the flip side I have shot some long ATA bows that had the string aligning more with the side of my nose. So it really depends on how you chose your anchor points. Shoot them both and make a decision if you can.

longer ATA is defiantly more forgiving, I like to shoot 33'' bows so I would defiantly consider 34". what's your draw length. as explained above draw length really comes into play. I don't think you could go wrong with the VTM if you like it and get a good deal sounds like your getting a new bow!
