My optometrist is a bowhunter, so that helps me. He showed me that to see the pins in a sight clearly we need a smaller peep. They actually called it the peep affect. He whipped out a little tiny card and had me read the stuff on the wall and danged if it wasn't clear as could be. I wonder how universal those lens are. I have a 4x around here somewhere from an old sight, but danged if can find it.

Increase your bow's accuracy & maximize precision with Specialty Archery's peep sight verifiers. Browse our wide selection of verifiers here!
They have a dealer locator on their site, don't know where you are at but On Target in Canton has the selector tool which I used because I didn't have my bow with me.
Best option would be to find a dealer, have the peep (base) put in the string and then start switching out the strength of the verifiers until you found the right one. The lenses vary in strength like readers.
If you have a lens on your sight, my understanding is you need a clarifier to get the same effect
The verfier was not cheap but glad I spent the money, has made a big difference
