Educate me on Slider Sights please

I never was interested in them because of the extra movement that I thought had to be done for yardage adjustment! I’m interested in a single pin and the double stack in line! My max distance when I get my cataracts removed will still be at 30 because that is where I set my own limit a long time ago for WT! I don’t see myself going on anymore Muley or elk hunts so that limit is carved in stone ! I have to have as much light as I can to see the pin/pins so that’s why I’m looking at the low clutter sights! I get the two pin scenario but I really would like to only have 1 pin. I’m looking at two sights - Spot Hog and HHA- leaning hard towards the HHA due to the brighter pins! If needed, can any of these sights or other manufacturers that can be slid while on draw?

    Thanks in AdVance

I have an HHA sight and have to turn the brightness down because it blinds me. It has an adjustable light, so not a big deal. I can’t adjust the slide while in full draw, and wouldn’t want to ask anyone to help me while in full draw. You can go down in total arrow weight and settle for a 25 yard pin. Or leave it at 25, shoot a little high for targets at 30. Shoot a little low at 20.

I’ve read that for most people it’s too bright but mostly at longer ranges ! My spot hoogitt is not bright enough!

I have used an HHA single pin for about 10 years and wouldn't use anything else.
As MnM said, set it at 25 and leave it alone.....especially if your self-imposed limit is 30.
You'll like the uncluttered look of just one pin, and wonder why you didn't make the switch sooner.

Thought I was settled on the HHA and it’s not out of the question but I’m also interested in the Black Gold 2pin with adjustable 2nd pin! They are pretty bright also.

I run a HHA and hesitated for years to switch because I liked the idea of having set pins for all the distances I wanted to shoot. I gave it a go about 5 years ago and glad I did. The uncluttered view is fantastic. I leave mine set at 30 and because my bow shoots pretty dang fast I don’t adjust it for less than or greater than 5/10yds I just compensate by aiming high or low. For longer shots I usually have the time to adjust it.

I run a Black Gold single pin. No complaints from me.

If your max distance is 30 yards, you don't need a slider. A 2-pin or even a single pin fixed site is all you need. The slider only comes into play when you're shooting at longer distances than your longest pin is sighted in for.

Exact same for me too. HHA single pin set at 25 and I don't know that I have ever moved it once I got it dialed in. I think it will go up to 80 on the dial but never have tried it. Aim dead on out to 30 and a little low 20 and in. No issues for the last 5 years.

I’m seeing a specialist in Houston for my eyesight and it has been a miraculous difference in the last week- Seriously! I ended up going with a Black Gold due to the Clarity of the FO’s that they use! I haven’t been able to shoot with both eyes open for years but as of yesterday I’m so blessed to be back in it to win it! I know that I’ll be able to easily go out to 50 so maybe I can get back Into mule deer hunting! This sight is a slider because I was unable to find the 2 pin mountain light without driving 150 miles or ordering and I was in need. It has worked out so awesome because I can use the slider now ! For My eyes it is the BG for the Win. I appreciate the input from everyone. Thanks

HUGE FAN of the UV double pin (but they have single as well) vertical set up. I love a vertical stack. They have a built in light that is absolutely second to none! Also if you have a spot Hogg or HHA mount the UV will attach to them!!

This is me. Except I can get my deer closer than 30 yards. I bought an Apex Covert single slider, lighted sight with an Apex Covert sight lens kit. I messed around and never got it assembled so used my cross gun in October. The cross gun is ok but I really like taking deer with my OLD ReflexHoyt bow. And I don’t see how you could adjust slider while at full draw.

I think I meant 20 for WT because I know that’s what it is! However I will easily punch a mature axis at 30. I searched for a slider that could be adjusted during full draw and some “ claim” that they can be but it’s just BS! I’m extremely happy with my black gold
