Last year I had issues getting pass throughs on two large pigs, but I got a new bow and in the process of getting new arrows and curious on ya'lls thoughts.
Last Year:
330 gr arrow @ 325 fps + or - a bit but it made 80 ft/lbs of energy. Shooting a 100 gr Grim Reaper 1 3/8" broadhead shot two similar 150 or so pound boards and both arrows went in behind the rib cage and neither exited.
This Year:
With the same arrows spined right cut a bit longer with the new bow I am shooting a 383grain arrows at 343fps 100ft/lbs + or - depending on which calculator you use. Would this 20 ft/lbs increase be enough to pass through the pig or will momentum still be an issue?
Energy maxes out 104 at around 104 ft/lbs but lose about 20fps.
I like the one pin to 35+ yards without hold over so I hate to give up too much but if it won't get through the animal I am willing to go heavier....
(Omen Pro 70lb @30" ran through a chrono Thursday, nothing on string, on the deep valley stops)
