    Worksharp Question

Based on all the comments here i purchased a worksharp and really like it. I have two questions though. On the first knife i sharpened i rounded the tip, is there a way to get the point back, I've resharpened a few time correctly since then but the tip has not come back.
Second question, one side of the the blade shaves my arms MUCH better than the other side, am i doing something wrong or is that how a knife is supposed to work.

Thanks and i apologize in advance to anyone who thinks i am asking a dumb question.

I've been having problems sharpening both sides evenly. The blade feels rolled over. Don't know if it's me or the sharpener.

to put the point back on the knife, as you pull thru do not follow the curve of the blade, instead pull straight thru

I always finish sharpening on a crock stick after using my worksharp. 5 or 6 passes on each side at a slightly shallower angle than the worksharp is all it takes. It gets rid of the bur and you should be evenly sharp.

You have to make sure that you even out the bur with the 220 grit before you go to the 6000. I have had ppl with the same problem many time, I tell them that or show them on the demo we have at Cabelas and they are amazed. make sure the bur is even before using the 6000, thats probably the most important thing with the worksharp.

Just rub ur finger from the spine of the blade to the edge. You will feel the bur. Do this on both sides.

That's it. Use your finger to feel for the bur. when you feel none on either side you're in good shape. Once you get the correct angle on your blade this will be easy. I've got to where I don't even have to feel for a bur anymore. I do my 5 swipes on each side and then a single swipe on the other side to take off the bur the 5 previous swipes have created. If that makes since? lol. 5 on the left, 5 on the right, then 1 on the left...

To get a edge back use the heaviest grit paper and work the blade straight and evenly/flat against the guide until you get the edge back (will take more than the recommended 5 swipes per side). Then step to the next grit and so on. I've taken blades with ZERO edge and got em razor sharp this way. Just takes a little more time to get that first edge back.
