    String slapping forearm?

I was out shooting today everything was going good and about the thirteenth shot the string started slapping my forearm. I tightened everything up but its still doing it. Is it string stretch? Time for a new string? Cams out of timing? Its a Hoyt vectrix with a winners choice string that isnt 6 months old.

Sounds to me like one of 3 things......

You were tired and relaxing a little to much which rotated your forearm
You were being lazy and letting your forearm rotate
You are drawing to long of a draw length and your arm is locked out, which you guessed it............... rotates your forearm.

Relax, keep a slight bend in your elbow, and if you feel a bit tired......... take a break.

I haven't (Knock on wood) had a string slap my forearm in 20 years UNLESS I did one of the above 3 things.

Draw length is too long, your rotating you elbow towards the string. First two things that came to mind.

Think you just got out of correct position. Take a break and try it later.

I think Dren got it with this. Most likely frustration and getting tired. 3 shots put it down for a bit, come back and 3 shots again. Only one that matters is the first one.

                    Install a string stop.

You get tired/ lazy after 13 shots??

When you can, take it to a pro shop and have the timing checked. Sometimes a string will stretch a bit as it is being broken in. That is unusual for a WC but that is why they have a warranty. If the string stretched, it will be out of time. If it isn't the string or timing, then I would consider your form.

how will that fix the problem?

you've got the answers from the other guys . . . . . I'd bet form and/or a draw length thats too long.
