Need new bowstrings, but which ones?

So, I'm sitting here waiting for my brisket to get ready to come off the pit, killing time by sitting on TBH and it hit me, I need to make some decisions about my new strings, I'll as TBH for suggestions.

    First Decision to make:

Kaitlin got me a gift certificate from The OutHouse in Waco so that I can get new string and cable for my bow. The lady at the shop told her that it usually runs about $100, so she got the certificate for $125 to make sure I had enough money to get what I wanted. Problem is, I don't know what I want. I'm shooting a 2007 Diamond Black Ice, 60-70 lbs, 28" draw if that makes any difference. All I know is I want strings that are "guaranteed not to stretch, no peep rotation etc." What brand would you suggest assuming that the OutHouse can/will get any brand I ask for? If anybody is familiar with them, what brands do they carry?

    Second decision to make:

I'm going to finish out whitetail season with what I have, even though I'm constantly making adjustments to my sights and my tuning seems to be changing. I just sight in with broadheads for now, then go hunt. That said, I have a red deer hunt that I'm planning shortly after the season is over. I haven't set a firm date yet, so I could go mid January, or wait a little longer. My question is, how long does it take to get new strings broke in, tuned in and everything right again? Would it be better to go ahead and do the red deer hunt with my current strings, THEN get them replaced, or would I have time to get them replaced and broke in between the last week of extended doe/spike season (middle of January) and say first week of February or so? OR, would you recommend going ahead and getting them swapped out, tuned and resighted, then finish out the whitetail season?

Not knowing what strings you have on now, I am going to say that the outhouse probably will have winners choice. They are good strings but not as special as everyone says IMO. The serving on them slips fairly easy on the cams, and they are made of the same string material as everyone else uses. If they will order stone mountain or America's best strings then I would choose those personally.

Change them any time and just shoot the, right away. If they need adjusted you can get them there with about 50-75 shots. Changing them now will have them ready for any hunting you will be doing now and after the season ends.

I have the exact same bow and swapped out my original strings about a month ago. I went with Octane Backbone strings. Jim at Alvarado Archery recommend them and couldn't be happier. I haven't notice any stretch yet but I guess it's still a little early.

I've got Winners Choice and Vapor Trail and like both of them. Generally speaking it should be shot in by 100 shots.

I got a string from Korbin and it is awesome and ran me way cheaper than 125, I think it was like 50 bucks max.

Make sure they are built out of BCY 452x or BCY trophy and that will take of your needs. Depending on what type of cam you have on your bow will depend on the serving used on the string.. Hard cams go with halo .14 serving, if your cam is not a hard one then go with 3d serving. I would hit up Korbin on TBH or 60x on archerytalk and get one of these guys to build your strings. If you were closer to me i would build you a set. I"m about to start building a set for my daughters new bow and of course she wants pink and black and i have never ordered a spool of pink string in my life, but as long as she wants to shoot i'll build her whatever string color she wants.

Thanks for the advice guys. I'm going to call the OutHouse tomorrow morning (hopefully they're open) and see what they carry and what they can get for me special order. I'm not sure if my bow has hard or soft cam, but it's a single cam bow, so I'm assuming it's hard (ish) since some of the arrow spine charts that specify different cam styles group hard cams and single cams together. That said, the Black Ice is definitely the smootest drawing and shooting bow I've ever shot, and when it first came out, a lot of reviews said it was one of the smoothest on the market. When set at 70lbs (which it won't get to anymore due to the old strings/cables) it feels like a lot of 60lb bows I've shot. It just doesn't FEEL like 70lbs.

X2 On the America's Best Strings. They are great strings. The Archery shop I was dealing with wouldn't order them for me as they didn't have an account with them. So I ordered the America's best myself and got custom 2 color string, with any choice of the serving color, for $99 shipped, and about $35 to install. They wanted close to $175 for the Winners Choice installed so i saved $40 on what I believe to be just as good or better string.

I've got a toxik and it's basically the same as a black ice but rebranded. It's a medium hard cam. I'm buying a korbin's next week. Looked at winners choice, vapor trail, and a few others too, and korbin's uses the best materials, most customizable, and the best prices.

They all use the same materials. The differences are in the stretching technique before it is served. And how tight they spin the serving.

Not everyone uses the same materials. Bcy makes at least 8 string materials with different properties, and different string makers use different ones. I like 452x without the gore fibers.

I use Winners Choice and have never had a problem.
