    Yardage ?

My fil shoots a trophy ridge 5 pin vertical sight, but wants to try a horizontal pin sight. Ive got a sight im gonna let him have. Its got 2 pins. He shoots bowtech allegience, 29in at 50#. Shoots like 250fps. We dont shoot over 35yds, where should we set his 2 pins?

its completely personal preference... set them according to your setup and where you would get the best use of the two pins.. I would do 20 and 30 and 35 would be a little kentucky windage

Thanks, thought about 20 & 35. That way if a hog or yote came out further, he could hold over a tad. Might even do one pin at 25.

23 and 33 or 22 and 32. People do that for 3D archery I would imagine it would work for hunting

have him shoot one at 10 one at 20 and one at 30 using his 20 pin aiming at the same spot and see how far they are off and go from there. if it doesnt drop much between 20 and 30 may just need a 20 and 40 but thats just me thinking out loud

It isn't too difficult to add another pin. Pins at 20, 27, 35 yrds might be perfect. All about preference

This is what I was thinking, roughly.
I know that on my Swtichback my 20 yard is also my 10 yard.

And when Turkey hunting I discovered that my 50 yard is great for 5 yards.
I haven't figured out why, but I set my blind up in front of my 3D and shot off each pin, and my LR pin was in the vitals.

But is is a personal preference and where he's comfortable.
