40lb bow an deer??

My cousin is shootin a diamond razor edge at 40lbs and he asked me if he should use his 100 grain montecs or his rage 40kes he got for his b day he is a very good shot and can put it were ever it needs to be so plz reply need answers asap!!

I shot my first pig with a regular rage 2 blade at 44 pounds and almost got a pass through on a 75 lb sow

With the low poundage he is going to want to go with less cutting surface area, less blades=less friction/more penetration. I would recommend the Rage 2 blade. My wife pulls 40 pounds and shoots the 40 ke Rage two blade and they work great with many kills with them.

My son shoots buzz cuts out of his edge....they work. I agree on the montecs of the two you mentioned.

I would have to whole heartedly agree. At low weights the more laid back angle of a broadhead will increase penetration.

Go with the montecs. The 40lb. Might not be enough for the rage to open and get good penetration.

Wife shoots same bow set at 38lbs and she shoots montec cs 100gr. Just keep your shots to no more than 15 to 20 yards max.

My son uses a Razor Edge at 35lbs and got a pass through on a doe at 20 yards using the 40ke. Either broadhead should work fine with good shot placement.
