choot'em all man....let the bow pick you...he he he
I've heard that all the time....sometimes it's not possible to choot'em all, don't wanna waste fuel just tryin' to narrow it down...
shoot what you can get your hands on and then make a decision...there are price point bows that fit just about anybody's wallet and then there are the more expensive ones, Hoyt, Mathews....just have to shop within' your means...I started with a Martin Jaguar and moved into a Z7 and an extremely satisfied...I bought based on reputation and shot my buddy's Z7 before hand and made up my mind...never pullled back on a Hoyt or an Elite but did play around with a PSE, almost thought about buying a bowmadness rig...ended up with a Mathews....I wouldn't turn my nose to a Hoyt or an Elite or Bowtech...very interested in an Elite though...can't go wrong with a Mathews, and that I know....

I always in the past shot a few bows and then just picked one and it wasn't until this last time when I shot everything I could get my hands on with an open mind when I found out this entire time what I was really doing was settling for something I liked instead of buying one I LOVED and ciouldn't go without it. And you never know what "let the bow pick you" means until it happens and for me it was the Dream Season Evo as soon as I shot it I fell in love!!!! It was saying "pick me, pick me" and I did, and now I know what it feels like for when a bow picks you instead of the other way around!!

I am going to agree to disagree with some of the statements about buying a bow on here. I know that it is impossible to shoot all the makes and models without spending a lot of money, but I have also seen too many guys buy bows based on a recommendation from a friend or a magazine advertisement or because so and so on TV says this is the only bow to shoot and not been able to get any consistancy out of the set up no matter what they tried. Some bows just do not fit certain people and if you do not shoot the bow more than a couple of shots and think it is the bow for you still based on someone ele's recommendations, then you may not be the best with that particular bow. I have seen too many people do that and not really like the bow, give up shooting and never seem them in the sport again. I have also seen them buy the bow that is recommended by a friend, not be really consistant with it, want to sell it for another brand or model and find out that a slightly used bow is not worth much. With the price of bows nowdays, be careful and make 100% sure that you like the bow in all aspects. heck mid-range priced bows nowdays are more expensive than the top line model bows even as late as the mid 90's.

If it were me I would spend the time to drive to a town that has a decent bow shop and shoot the bows they have rather than just buying one based on a friends or anyoen elses suggestion. TMP Truck Parts in Midland also carries bows. You could make a big mistake by not shooting a bow before you buy or settling for one just because it is the only one you shot.
