Mini 14

I am looking into putting a bull barrel on my mini 14 to make the gun more accurate. Has anyone on the GS done this? If so How did the gun turn out?

My mini 14 came with the bull barrel, boss system, and big thumb hole.stock, its the target version and man you can drive tacks at 100-300 yrds with it. Mine is heavy, prolly 10+ lbs.

That's what I am going for I bought the ranch rifle version about 5 years back and want to make it more accurate so I can have an all around gun that I can count on for pigs, coyotes, or anything that steps out!

Gun turned out great. My go to gun for yotes! Longest shot to date has been 726. It is sighted in at 300 and I shoot hand loads. But I will say this. The new mini 14 target you can buy over the counter is almost just as accurate. I like custom stuff so I had mine done but if you wanna save money buy the new target version. My bill with shipping and all that good stuff was alil over a grand. Just a thought!

Mine was done at Accuracy systems as well. In stainless. Its a tack driver. Best shooting mini I've seen.

I did this also to one of mine and it shoots pretty good and for right at a grand. The thing is I have several AR's in different configurations that shoot better and didn't cost as much and are half the weight.
The big thing with my modified mini is the weight, you need to eat your cheerios if you are going to carry it very far.

I don't like the "target" mini14. The barrel is medium weight at best, and is a regular pencil barrel under the hand guard. I also don't like the barrel tuning deal on it.

I already have a mini, and it would be something different than an AR so I am considering this mod to mine.

I have a bull barrel, thumbhole. The Ranch Rifle.... Its a blast to shoot. It doesnt shoot as good as some of my other rifles chambered in .223, Its just not as consistently accurate as my bolt actions/ break opens.

I have a m77 all weather .223, T/C Encore rifle, T/C contender pistol, H&R handi rifle in .223 and they all shoot better groups than the Ranch Rifle... its fun to shoot at stuff but If Im out to blast smaller varmints then I take something else.
