    Arrows for a woman's bow...

    What do you folks recommend?

Posted earlier about a buddy getting his wife a PSE Chaos and he's trying to find some arrows that will work. We both shoot Easton Flatline 400s and thought the 500s would do the trick. Before he ordered, I ran her 40-43lb and 25" draw specs through the Easton selector charts and the Flatlines or Lightspeeds didn't come up. They are 6.3gr per inch but I am guessing they have too much spine maybe?

Anyway, looking for a good economical arrow. Technically right now she isn't sure about the killing but wants to be able to shoot targets, 3D and Techno with her husband. So, I guess a good all around arrow that won't break the bank will be a good starting point.

Please give me the arrow name, spine and approx draw weight and length if you have it.

    Thanks ladies and gents

Lease buddy got his wife a Chaos, I dont have all of the info on her setup but, Alan at Pidgeon Road sold him the bow and set her up with Gold Tip Lightning's. They shoot very well out of her bow and she has killed several pigs and a couple of deer so far. Just looked on their site and they were 39.00 a dozen.

I shoot a PSE bow as well. Amazing bow. My bow guy at academy told me that I would have to special order arrows due to my poundage (55) and the bow etc. Here is a ebay listing for the similar arrows I bought last year. You get 12 for $59 & they cut them for you. Academy fletched them for me for free.

They say blemished but it's only the camo pattern thats blemished. Got my first complete pass thru on a mature buck this year. Still looking for my perfect broadhead, Rage 40KEs left no blood trail, even with that complete pass thru and a double lung shot-- not impressed with them, glad that buck only ran 60 yards.

GT youth arrows or a 600 spine arrow. I think GT makes a couple of 600 spine arrows, and a 500 cut a little long would work too.

Why do you suggest the 400s over the 600s that are recommended on the GT sight wassaw?

I cut couple inches off some of my 400s for my kids bow. She is shooting right about 40lbs right now. Her max range for a good while on a deer is 20 yards maybe 25 on a pig. I haven't noticed any over spine issues out that far. Broad heads or feild points. 100 gr heads.

I don't like those either. My doe ran 300 yards with a clean lung shot.
It is hard for me to get past muzzy's, they are always a win.

                    Anyways, Smart.
I used to shoot Carbon Impact Youth with my lower poundage Mathews Ignition youth bow. They were cheaper and I liked them. Grouped amazing.
In fact, I still have some laying around and they group a little different than my victory's but I shoot them at hogs.

You would need to leave a 400 30" long to be the correct spine. As stated above a 500 would work at about 27" and 600 shorter than that.

Right, just to be clear I wasn't saying that cutting it shorter would help with being over spined just that we haven't had any over spine issues on a shorter 400 out of my kids 40lb bow. I knew if I ran into over spine issues I could add weight up front easily enough. Was hoping to get a somewhat lighter arrow that would shoot from my kids bow and it worked out.

Will try the Muzzys. You are not the first to tell me good things about them! I was surpised about the Rage 40KEs because we are used to so much blood with the normal 2 blade rages.. But to tell you the truth, this year 5 mature bucks have been shot around our farm-- all with Rages and no blood trail. All good shots too. It's very stange. In the past years the blood has been everywhere but for some reason we haven't got a blood trail yet this year. I'm going to try some fixed blades and see what I can do about that.

Gold tip 35/55 or gold tip ultra lights should work.
