    Pop-Up Blind Question

Sometimes I find my pop-up collapsed. Not completely, usually the top and a side or 2. There are no cows or anything on the property. Could it be the wind? Does anyone else find their pop-ups collapsed sometimes for no reason?

Cows have bumped mine in the past. If you have cows, just put some brush and sticks around the base of the blind. That will keep them from walking so close to the blind.

Be sure the top is tied off. Had 2 get ruined when we had a wet, heavy snow that collapsed the tops in and broke the rods.

Just my luck, I put it on a pipeline and there is nothing I can tie the top to. Thanks for the advice. I will definitely remember that next time.

This has been an ongoing problem for me and the most annoying thing. Every time I go out I ask myself where my popup is going to be located this time lol.

It's impressive how well a popup - when set up properly, survives high winds. I put out two DB's a couple of months ago and made sure not only the corners were staked, but all four guy ropes as well. We had 24 hours worth of hellacious winds this weekend - enough to blow over two rifle blinds that were not well anchored. Both my DB's were still standing without so much as a stake pulled up or a window blown open. I never thought about tying off from the eyelet on the top, but if you were under a tree that would be some extra insurance.

Wind will do this. My popup stays up year round mounted on a platform. Strong winds will somtimes colapse a side or two.

Found mine collapsed this weekend on 2 sides, but we have cows, not sure if it was the wind or cows. Set it back up and piled limbs and brush around it. It survived pretty strong winds Saturday night.

tie it off like said above..I have also had the snow break rods in my DB bc the roof collapsed. Luckily there CS is outstanding and replacements were no issue

I always stake it and tie it off to brush now. I wouldnt ever plan on setting my pop up in a wide open area like a pipeline. Just me

Thanks for all of the advice. Maybe an open pipeline is not a good spot for a pop-up.

The wind can do it to them

yes the wind does it to mine unless I tie it off to something.

with a pop-up you don't really need anything above it to tie off to. when you get ready to leave. just stick a piece of pvc pipe with a notch cut into it to support the roof from the inside of the blind.
