    new arrows on the way.

my current set-up is the beman ics camo hunter in 340 spine cut to 28" with 100 gr. tip. i have my outback set to 65# draw at 28".

this arrow shoots well but is fairly slow. since i don't forsee needing to shoot past 35 yds. i don't think i need the down-range k.e. of a heavier arrow. i have ordered some ics speeds in 340 spine and think the drop from 10 gr/in. (ics hunter) to 8.1 (speed) should hop the bow up a little.

    opinions? comments?

yep. you should jump about 12-15 FPS.

total arrow weight will drop from 413ish to about 359 give or take a few. Should finish in the 280-290 FPS range would be my guess.

just wanted to circle back with the group, these came in and so far i'm pleased. the outback is set @ 68#'s X 28". the switch to the speeds dropped arrow weight by 40 grains (425 formerly, to 385). that comes to 5.66 grains per # draw. the fit and finish arrows is excellent and they draw dead silent.

i don't hunt big game, and shoot fairly well at the range i hunt @, from 30 in. the lighter arrow leaves the bow hard, much harder than the 425 ics hunters. however, the increase in speed was accompanied by a slight increase in shot report and hand shock. this is marginal at best and worth the increase in fps imo.

i would suggest them to anybody who is looking at picking up a little speed and have a hunting game that will allow them to do so. know off to the chrony and into the bush for testing.
