    Z7 Squeaky Cams? Anyone else?

I noticed it again this evening while shooting..My cams like to creak pretty good every once in a while when I draw, especially if I draw slowly.

It is worse on a cool damp morning, I have even had deer take notice to it. What can I do?

I oil my cams regularly, maybe too much? Gotta make it stop!

For sure it is the cam? You are not suppose to oil the bearings they are sealed. Most likely the bearing needs to be replaced.

More than likely it's the thimble where your split harness attaches to the top limb.

Not sure? What bearing? I only hit the cam wheel with oil

Put teflon washers between the thimble and the limb

You can try a small drop of oil between limb and thimble, or do what J.Colwell suggests.
If you press the bow to install washers, you will probably need to sand the limb side of the thimble slightly.

This or remove the QCC and give the limb a light sanding, then hit it with teflon spray.

Does it sound like a creak or someone plucking a string? If it sounds like a string plucked it is the QCC's on the top limb where the yoke of the string attaches to each side of the limb. The bow has to be pressed and a light sanding to smooth them.

definitely just a low creak...ounds like leather creaking on a saddle if yo know what i mean... No plucking sound

Might just need to head into the bow shop for this one!

Yes it would be your best bet. Could be the limb cradles what ever they call those that the limbs set in.

Yep, not a Z7, but opening weekend while pulling back on a buck at 15 yards... and he did not stick around to learn the exact origin of the noise In fact, he took off so fast, for a split second I thought my arrow shot while pulling back I took my bow to the shop and they not only knew what I was talking about, but replicated the noise on a smaller scale by putting tension on the buss cable. Two pieces in the top cam were replaced with Teflon coated parts and it is as quiet as ever. Hope it is as easy as a fix for you. Good luck!
