    MX-4 or Slick Trick Mag

I've been back and forth with these two BH's for a while now and want to make a final judgement. Need some feed back. I think the Slick Tricks have thicker stronger blades but the MX-4 have a bigger cutting diameter. So lots of pros and cons. Let the fed back rip!

I just left muzzy for slick trick magnums. Was having issues with an off head every now and them causingy arrow to go weird. Too many folks that I know shoot the STs and got to try them. Yea the blades are way thicker and not much difference in cutting if you put it where it belongs. FYI Muzzy got the idea for the mx4 from ST design of the smaller mor compact head.

I personally like the ST mags but the mx-4 is a great head too.

ST's the Muzzy line is awesome too..........if you want to straighten 2 of every 3 pack, and re straighten the aluminum ferrels after every shot. I've seen unbelievable blood trails from both, the ST's just seem to come from the package sharper and more "ready to hunt".

I'll let you look it up but 2 questions will probably give you what you are looking for?

              1) Which has thicker blades?
              2) Which has a steel ferrule and which has an aluminum?

I just went back to Muzzy, was shooting ST mags, and am shooting the MX-4's. The last couple of packs of replacement blades I bought for the ST magnums were not sharp at all. I bought a 6 pack of the MX-4's for $32 at Cabela's and they were razor sharp. Took a doe on opening morning and a coyote that same evening with the same arrow and BH (MX-4). I ran it across a stone a couple of times and it is good to go again. I have not had any problems with Muzzy ferrules. Never had any problems with ST's either though. They both fly well and cut good holes.

I dont think this is quite accurate. Both the Muzzy MX-4 and the Slick Trick Mag have a 1 1/8" cutting diameter, but the MX-4 has an aluminum ferrule and a screw on Trocar tip. The Slick Trick is a solid piece of carbon steel - all one piece.

I've shot both, and I much prefer the Slick Trick Mag, and it also flies better for me.

Both Fly Extremely well for me and I carry both in my quiver!

I have the Slick tricks on my deer arrows and the muzzy's on my pig arrows! I think the tricks are a little tougher than the muzzy's because of the blade thickness, But I wont and dont hesitate to sling either one down range!
