    Washing Carbon Suits

I recently bought a Scent Blocker suit and need to wash it before hunting in it for the first time. Do I have to use the specially designed detergent for carbon garments or can I use any of the normal odor eliminating detergents?

    copied from a website

    ScentBlocker - Garment Care
Wash in cold water. Hand wash is preferred, or a very gentle cycle on your washing machine. Use only approved detergent such as ScentBlockerĀ® Carbon Laundry Detergent or Clothes Wash. This will remove odors and hand oils from the outer camo and liner fabrics.

Drying the garment. Air dry. The carbon will reactivate best when fully dry.

Reactivate in Dryer. Reactivate for 30-40 minutes in your dryer. Medium heat for non-waterproof items, low heat for items with a waterproof membrane. Repeat regeneration process every 20-30 hours of actual use.

I read that too but figured it could be just another way for them to sell their own products.

I just found this claim & it makes sense, "Some laundry detergents may leave a residue that clogs the pores of carbon molecules prohibiting scent adsorption.".

I use the dead down wind E whatever wash on my scentlock. It says on the bottle safe for use on carbon clothing.
