Im having some trouble with my game cameras. One is not taking any pictures, and the other takes a picture every minute. Im wondering if the heat has something to do with it. The Moultrie doesnt seem to take any pictures when the temperature is hot. Its setting on a post in the middle of a field so I figure even if its only 85, the temperature for the black camera is way over 100. The Stealthcam I have is the one taking pictures about every minute. It has a temperature readout on the pictures and its always over 95, even though the camera is on a shooting lane that never gets direct sunlight. Does anyone else have strange camera activity when the temperature is extra warm?

But it shouldnt be taking pictures if nothing is in front of it. I dont want to change the timing because when animals do get in front of the camera, they dont hang around long, and I want to see as many angles of the critter as possible in that short amount of time.
I forgot to add that above. Its taking pictures with no animals in front of it.

OK, so Im not the only one. I thought there was a problem with my cameras. They are older models, but not older than 4-5 yrs, and I was worried that they were played out. Ide be upset if they made the mto work great for a few years and then fade out so that you buy new ones. I know they wont last forever, but Ide at least like to get a few more years out of them.

Wildgame cameras suggest putting the camera in night mode if the heat is causing the problem in daytime. I have had 6 or so of their cameras and some do have that problem. I got tired of showing up to retreive my card only to have the batteries dead and the cards full of NOTHING. To help the situation, I rigged 6 volt batteries and solar panels so at least the batteries wouldn't be dead. But the cards still were the limiting factor. They still filled up with 60-80 pictured per day between 11 AM and 4 PM.
I just bought 2 RED 6 Wildgame cameras and I'm hoping hey don't have the same problem.

I went to one of my spots last week to check feeders and cameras--one camera (Moultrie) had 1500+ pics on it in 19 days--and 50% had no critters in them, and no limbs hanging in front of it. I think with all the heat we've had, the infra-red sensor just gets overloaded. Move it to a shaded spot and see if that helps-

I have a Game Spy and finally gave up on it after one season in the field. I spent a bunch of money on it along with the solar panel, the cell gadget and a solar panel for that.... one of the solar panels stopped taking a charge.... the other one just plain quit and the Stealth Cam eats batteries in less than a month..
I went with something else.
My dad picked up two of the M-80s and they seem to be working just fine after two months in the field.
