    Bowtech owners....learn from my mistake

I also posted this on "around the campfire": I own a used 2009 Captain, which I bought about 3 months ago, and it is a fine bow. The cam axles on this bow, require a screw on each side; not a grooved shaft with a "C" ring. Well...long story shory short, I learned the hard (and expensive) way, that you just snug those screws, then back them off 1/4 of a turn. Bottom line....I'm gonna be looking at replacing both cams now. Wish I'd have known then, what I know now...........

Last year the guys at the bow shop snapped one of the screws on my Destroyer and they fixed it. The bow was sent to a shop and they drilled out the broken thread part of the screw. You might try this first and safe a bunch of money. I think the screws run around fifty bucks. Any questions call me at 979-571-3235.

I'll take it into the shop (Santa Fe) on Monday and see what they have to say. Cheaper and easier is always better in my book, but if I screwed it up, I'll just have to bite the bullet and get it fixed, because it is a really nice bow.
