    Another arrow swirling question

I just went through similar situation as was posted in the previous arrow flight. I recently switched rests and increased my bows poundage quite a bit. I eyeballed everything and paper tuned. Broadheads would impact right of field tips. I could notice a swirl in the flight. I always find it odd that flight can be bad but consistency good. I was shooting 340's at 72 lbs and 29". Muzzy three blade 100's. I moved the rest around trying to move fp and bh together but could never get it. I finally backed the bow poundage down to where it was originally and tried adjusting the rest again. I was able to get the bh to match fp after the poundage reduction, but I'm still not sure everything is correct. The bow is shooting well, though.

Should 340's be underspined in the set up mentioned? Or is more likely I have a contact issue that is just more pronounced at the higher poundage. If it is a contact issue, other than watching for it, how to I find it?

I havent read the other post but when this happened to me, it was fletching contact. The fletchings may be hitting at the higher poundage because the rest isnt falling away fast enough. Higher poundage means more speed, so the fletching get to the rest faster. If the rest is adjustable for drop speed, you may want to turn it up to " fastest "

Check your contact by lightly spraying the fletching with athlete's foot POWDER and let it dry. you can see if the fletch hit something at the time of release and by checking the fletch for scraped off powder. Also, make sure that the broadheads are spinning true on the arrow or maybe try a different broadhead, and see if that changes the impact. As far as the spine goes, check your arrow manufacturers website, and they should have info on this. Overspined should not be much of a problem, but underspined can affect your flight.

Just another thought, I hope I don't offend all you muzzy shooters, but I have some three blade muzzies, and I did not think they shot particularly well.

Well, I tried again yesterday afternnon. I guess it must have been getting late when I was doing my last tuning because I wasn't noticing any odd flight with fp but it's still there. Fp and Bh are shooting in one group but an noticing some wobbly looking arrow flight even with fp. What kind of contact would I have with a whisker bis that would cause this? Old rest was a limb driver but I was messing with it and broke. Thought I would try something different.

your vanes might be hitting a cable. that is more often the cause of contact.

x2 above. The foot powder obviously won't work with a biscuit. Check your bottom right fletch on your arrows to see if maybe you are getting a scuff mark form hitting a cable. If you think you are getting clearance and you are not underspined on your arrow, I would start over on tuning starting with paper tuning, then walk back tuning, and finally with broadhead tuning.

foot powder will work fine with the WB rest. It would hit the bus cable before it gets to the rest.

You are tuning with fletchings? I paper tune without. Bare shaft and field point. 10' or so from me into target.
