    String silencers...

    ok..who's using what?
I've tried rubber whiskers, monkey talks, Jax, and some permutations of other fuzzy crap and rubber junk...

honestly ..i have nothing on my gt500 right now other than the speed beads or whatever they are called that came with the bow.. and the built in STS..
was thinking of going with monkey tails again.. but i don't remember seeing any diffference with those when i had them on my hoyts..

The best way to quiet down a bow is with an arrow that has some weight to it. Try 6 to 6.3 grains per pound of draw weight. Example 6 grains X 70 lb is 420 grains total arrow weight including head.

Whiskers are the cheapest and last the longest. I think they work better than leeches.

I have leeches on my Switchback XT and had been happy with the low level of noise. 'Had been' because I was shooting with a buddy who has a new Z7 Extreme the other day and my bow sounded like thumping a rubber band while his barely made any noise.
Now I'm gonna install some whiskers that I have and I'm looking into a string stop.

I use whiskers made out of an old bungee cord. Just seemed like better rubber to me.

I'm assuming you mean the cord type bungees with the strands and not the thick black bungees ?

Whiskers kept breaking on me every few hundred shots. Everlast leeches going strong for a long time now. I'll sacrifice a decibel or two to not have to tie new whiskers every other week

they weigh about 20-30 grains if you trim them down to the size of a quarter.
(speed nocks or the 6 rubber buttons, weigh around 18-22 grains)
if you take the "speed nocks" off and tie these on in the same area 4.5-4.75 (GT-500)inches from the axles you don't loose as many fps as say leaving on the speed nocks and tying the whiskers on also.

I"ve got the Monkey tails and they have come off a couple of times...I'm sure they are doin' their job though, I"ve noticed a difference with them off and on while shootin' a 400+grain arrow.

                          Looks like this
When tied by a nonprofessional cat whisker installer like me
